Dr. Don Rudasill graduated from Churchill H.S. in San Antonio, TX in 1971. He obtained his B.S. from Texas A&M University in 1975. Post-graduate studies in optometry which include B.S. and Doctor of Optometry degrees were completed at the University of Houston in 1979. In the United States Air Force, he served as Chief of Optometry Clinic at Yokota AB, Japan from July 1979 until July 1983. He was awarded the USAF Commendation Medal for his services while in Japan.

In 1983, he returned to Nacogdoches, TX and entered private practice. He has served as an optometric consultant to the Vision Clinic at the Rusk State Hospital Since August 1983 until September 2007. In January 1984, Dr. Rudasill opened a branch office, in order to provide eye care in the city of Rusk, Texas.

Dr. Rudasill is active in the Nacogdoches Rotary Club and has served as past president of the Nacogdoches Rotary Club. He is a member of Beta Sigma Kappa, the Optometric Honor fraternity. He is a graduate of the Leadership Nacogdoches program, class of 1984-1985.

He is married to Kay Rudasill of Jefferson, Texas and they have four children and six grandchildren.
